Keith Apfelbaum, Ph.D.

Biography

Keith Apfelbaum received his Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Iowa in 2013. He served as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Psychology at The Ohio State University from 2013-2016. Throughout his career, Keith has researched how to apply principles of cognitive science to questions of development and learning, both at the basic theoretical level and in more applied settings. Currently, he serves as a research scientist in Dr. Bob McMurray's Cognitive Development Lab, where he works on longitudinal investigations of language development and language processing in typical and atypical populations. He also serves as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Iowa, teaching courses in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences and the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Outside of his professional interests, Keith enjoys running, cycling and otherwise spending time outdoors, as well as playing board games.
